RC 16 Marketing Mystery: Buchi Babu's Selective Peddi Promotions Raise Questions

The promotional strategy for Ram Charan's upcoming film under Buchi Babu Sana's direction is taking an unusual path, and industry watchers are beginning to question the wisdom behind it. With barely a month left for the film's June 3rd release, the campaign has been surprisingly narrow in its focus.

While Charan has been front and center across the teaser, songs, and the much-talked-about "Kusthi" glimpse, his co-stars remain largely in the shadows despite their significant star power. This approach feels particularly puzzling given the caliber of talent assembled for this project.

Siva Rajkumar's presence alone should be promotional gold for any Telugu film. The Kannada superstar's recent cameo in Jailer created massive waves among Telugu audiences, proving his pan-South appeal is at an all-time high. Yet beyond his striking first look poster, we've seen nothing that showcases what he brings to this story. That's a missed opportunity of epic proportions.

The same logic applies to Divyendu, whose Mirzapur fame has made him a youth icon across India. His pairing with Ram Charan has naturally generated curiosity, but without any substantial glimpse of his character, that curiosity risks turning into indifference. In today's content-saturated landscape, keeping audiences guessing works only when you're simultaneously building anticipation.

Even Jagapathi Babu, despite his intriguing first look, remains a mystery. This is an actor who can elevate any project with his screen presence, yet the promotional campaign treats him as an afterthought rather than an asset.

Janhvi Kapoor's visibility has been limited to the "Chikiri" song, which, while popular, tells us nothing about her role's significance in the narrative. For a heroine making her Telugu debut, this feels like another wasted promotional avenue.

The strategy might be intentional: perhaps Buchi Babu wants the film to surprise audiences. But in an industry where opening day collections often determine a film's fate, mystery for mystery's sake could backfire. With such a formidable ensemble at his disposal, playing all cards close to the chest seems like a risky gamble when maximum visibility could guarantee maximum impact.
