RB Choudary, Producer Behind 100+ South Films, Dies in Car Accident

The South Indian film industry has lost one of its most consistent producers with RB Choudary's sudden death in a car accident near Udaipur this evening. The veteran producer, who helmed the successful Super Good Films banner, was traveling when his vehicle met with the fatal accident.

Choudary's journey in cinema began in Malayalam films before he expanded into Tamil and Telugu markets through his Super Good Films banner, established in 1988. What set him apart was his knack for backing clean family entertainers that resonated across generations. In Telugu cinema, his banner delivered memorable hits like Suswagatham, Suryavamsam, and the Megastar Chiranjeevi starrer God Father, among others.

The producer's business acumen extended beyond filmmaking: he had established himself in steel trading, exports, and jewelry before entering cinema. This commercial background served him well as he went on to produce over 100 films across Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi languages. His association with the Mega compound was particularly strong, leading to the creation of 'Mega Super Good Films' as a specialized banner for projects with Chiranjeevi and family.

Choudary is survived by four sons, including Tamil actor Jiiva, who carved his own niche in cinema, and Jithan Ramesh, who took over the banner's operations in 2010. His Rayalaseema distribution network made him a key player not just in production but also in the business side of cinema.

The industry is mourning the loss of a producer who understood the pulse of family audiences and consistently delivered content that stood the test of time. His sudden departure leaves a significant void, particularly for the Mega compound with whom he shared a decades-long professional relationship.
