In what's shaping up as one of the more surprising box office developments of recent times, Sangeeth Shobhan's fantasy-comedy Rakasa has comprehensively outperformed Sharwanand's much-hyped sports drama Biker in their opening clash.

Rakasa collected $134K from premieres and Day 1 in the U.S. market, while Biker managed only $67K: a gap significant enough to signal deeper audience preferences than mere promotional differences.
